Silentium Alto: Asymmetric double-glazed acoustic partition · 100 mm
01 — Overview

Laboratory-tested acoustic separation with an asymmetric glazing build-up.

Silentium Alto is built on the same 100 mm aluminium structure as Silentium 100. The difference is the glazing: one monolithic pane and one laminated pane, separated by a 60 mm air gap. The asymmetric build-up was tested as a complete assembly at the same DAkkS-accredited laboratory and is rated Rw 51 dB. Depth, face width, sightlines, finishes and door integration are shared with Silentium 100, so the two systems sit on one floor without a visible change.

  • Tested as a complete assembly: Rw 51 dB
  • Same 100 mm depth, 40 mm face width and sightlines as Silentium 100
  • Asymmetric glazing: one monolithic pane, one laminated pane
  • Mixes with Silentium 100 on the same floor without a visible change
  • Direct integration with the Porta door system
  • Full finish range: powder coat, anodised, PVD

04 — System engineering

Profile logic

The same twin-profile construction as Silentium 100, with no rigid connection between the glass planes. Identical depth, face width and post logic, so both systems share sightlines and door integration.

Gasket & sealing

Continuous EPDM acoustic gaskets and isolated floor and ceiling connections, following the same flanking-control logic as the Silentium 100.

Glass configuration

Asymmetric double-glazed builds: a monolithic pane on one face and a laminated pane on the other. Clear, low iron, frosted, fluted, textured and acoustic laminated faces. Decorative faces are outside the laboratory test and are assessed per project.

Typical applications

  • Meeting rooms requiring laboratory-tested separation
  • Private offices and management suites
  • Mixed-system floors alongside Silentium 100
  • Enclosures where one monolithic face is preferred

Finish compatibility

Powder coat RAL, anodised (natural to black), and PVD.

05 — Scope and limits

What to confirm before you specify.

Stated plainly, so nothing surprises you at submittal stage.

  • Alto is not a slimmer system. It has the same 100 mm depth and 40 mm face width as Silentium 100; it differs in the glazing build-up.
  • The Rw 51 dB result applies to the tested build-up with flat glass on both faces. The Rw 45 dB figure for twin 10 mm toughened glass is a calculation, not a laboratory measurement.
  • Fluted, textured and other decorative faces change the build-up. They are assessed per project and are not covered by the laboratory test.
  • BS 5234-2 robustness tests were carried out on the shared Silentium structure; Alto was not separately tested.
  • Maximum height, lead times and warranty terms are confirmed per project.
