Silentium Alto
Rw 51 dB

Silentium Alto uses the same 100 mm aluminium structure as Silentium 100 with an asymmetric glazing build-up: one monolithic pane and one laminated pane. The complete assembly was measured to ISO 10140-2 at the same accredited laboratory; the rating to ISO 717-1:2020 is Rw 51 dB.

Result

51Rw dB

C −1 · Ctr −4

Rw is the weighted sound reduction index: a single-number laboratory rating of airborne sound insulation. C and Ctr are the spectrum adaptation terms for mid-frequency and low-frequency dominated noise.

Scope of the result

What this figure covers, and what it does not.

Laboratory tested: Measured on the complete assembly at an accredited laboratory. Report reference published.

  • The figure is a laboratory value for the tested asymmetric specimen described above, with flat glass on both faces.
  • Decorative faces such as fluted or textured glass change the build-up. They are assessed by the engineering team per project and are not covered by this test.
  • Performance measured on site depends on installation quality, flanking paths and room conditions. No site measurement is claimed here.
  • Door-sets within a partition run have their own acoustic performance and are not covered by this report.
